An Accidental Break

Hello strangers, or am I the stranger?

I never anticipated that it would be several months before I wrote on Fashion Paradox again. Not really the start I was after when setting up a blog. In all honesty, life really has gotten in the way. 2018 has possibly been my biggest year to date, I’ve had three jobs in the space of 11 months. Moving from my comfortable role as a manager in hospitality, a visual merchandiser (which was definitely the stepping stone I always knew it would be), and finally, landing a job down in London as a merchandising assistant. It’s safe to say the last few months have been quite a blur.

I had two weeks from finding out I secured a job in London to leaving my then, current position to moving down south, finding somewhere to live and convincing Ben to come with me. It’s my first real time living away from home. Although I travelled America for 4 months back in 2016 I’ve never really had the responsibility of managing bills and having to look after myself without the comfort of my family close around me. I’d spoken about wanting to move out of Scarborough for a while here and there but they were always sort of empty conversations and I wasn’t really doing anything to act on them. One temporary break-up, a huge f*ck it moment and 8 weeks later, here I am, living it large in London, happier than ever.

I have a huge list of notes on my phone from over the last few months with ideas that I want to turn into content, in the year that I’ve been on/off/on with my IG I can see how my imagery style has developed and I have a (very) small idea of where I want to take my content.

So, I guess this is me just saying that yes, hello, I am still here, and if you’re happy to stick around I have some exciting content coming your way.

Yes! Best of luck in London! Good for you! I’m in a similar situation — I moved to Philly almost four years ago but just graduated and am now paying all my adults bills for real and fingers crossed I have a new job soon, too! Thanks for sharing your story!
